According to news reports in May, Changxing New Energy has successfully developed a new solid-state battery sample with a capacity of 400 watt-hours per kilogram, and is currently completing the construction of the production line. It is expected that the battery will be mass-produced by the end of May. They hope to develop a solid-state battery with a capacity of 600 watt-hours per kilogram in the next one or two years, with the goal of enabling new energy vehicles to travel more than 1,000 kilometers after a single charge. Tianjin Changxing New Energy Company was established in June 2023 with a registered capital of 20 million yuan and is supported by investment from the Xiqing District Government of Tianjin. Relying on the core patented technology of the new energy battery team of Academician Chen Jun of Nankai University, the company focuses on the research and development, design and industrial transformation of key materials and cells for advanced battery systems such as sodium-ion batteries, solid-state lithium batteries, and rechargeable aqueous zinc batteries.
