On January 20, a well-known manufacturer announced that its lithium iron phosphate (LFP) material prices would be raised by 500-1500 yuan, involving three different materials: S5 (energy storage), 255 (power), and 265 (power), of which the 265 model had the largest increase. The background of this price increase is the continuous increase in the market share of lithium iron phosphate batteries. Data shows that in December 2024, among the 75.4GWh of power battery installations in China, ternary batteries accounted for 19.0%, while lithium iron phosphate batteries accounted for as high as 80.9%.
