In terms of global manufacturing layout, Lear is streamlining its manufacturing network. By 2024, 13 factories had been closed or sold, and five more factories are currently planned to be closed or sold. In addition, facing the challenge of rising labor costs in the United States and Mexico, Lear is transferring some labor-intensive businesses (such as wire harness manufacturing) to low-cost countries in Africa and Eastern Europe to optimize the cost structure.
