Volvo seeks U.S. battery suppliers amid tariff pressure

According to reports, China's tariffs on imported electric vehicle batteries and materials have more than tripled to 25% in 2024, forcing Volvo Cars to look for domestic battery suppliers for its pure electric flagship SUV EX90 produced in the United States. Volvo Cars CEO Jim Rowan said that higher tariffs have put pressure on the profits of the EX90.
