India's Trentar Energy and KPIT to develop sodium-ion battery technology

On February 12, Indian energy company Trentar Energy reached a cooperation agreement with technology company KPIT, under which KPIT will provide Trentar Energy with its advanced sodium-ion battery technology for commercial application. Trentar plans to invest in building 3GWh of sodium-ion battery production capacity, while KPIT will receive upfront fees from this technology transfer and additional royalties for the next eight years.
