China Automotive Engineering Research Institute Co., Ltd. (stock abbreviation: China Automotive Research Institute, stock code: 601965) was founded in March 1965. It was formerly known as Chongqing Heavy Duty Truck Research Institute and is a national first-class scientific research institute. In 2001, it was renamed Chongqing Automotive Research Institute and transformed into a technology-based enterprise. In 2003, it was placed under the management of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council. In 2006, it was reorganized with China General Technology (Group) Holding Co., Ltd. and became its wholly-owned subsidiary. In 2007, it was renamed China Automotive Engineering Research Institute and reorganized as a limited liability company. In November 2010, it was reorganized and established as China Automotive Engineering Research Institute Co., Ltd. On June 11, 2012, China Automotive Research Institute was officially listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange. In January 2023, it was formally reorganized and merged into China Certification & Inspection (Group) Co., Ltd. through the professional integration of central enterprises. CARI has national-level platforms such as the National Gas Vehicle Engineering Technology Research Center, the National Key Laboratory of Automobile Noise, Vibration and Safety Technology, the National and Local Joint Laboratory of Alternative Fuels, the National Intelligent Clean Energy Vehicle Quality Inspection and Testing Center, the National Robot Testing and Assessment Center (Chongqing), the National Motor Vehicle Quality Inspection and Testing Center (Chongqing), the National Hydrogen Power Quality Inspection and Testing Center, the National Motor Vehicle Quality Inspection and Testing Center (Guangdong), and the National Intelligent Networked Vehicle Quality Supervision and Inspection Center (Hunan). It is a public science and technology innovation platform for my country's automobile product development, experimental research, and quality inspection, and promotes the technological progress of the automobile industry. CARI insists on basic research investment and has now built three regional bases in Beijing, Suzhou, and Shenzhen, a cluster system integrating the Testing Engineering Division, Energy and Power Division, Information Intelligence Division, Equipment Division, and Aftermarket Division (Preparatory), and has professional platforms such as the Standard Certification Center, the Political Research and Consulting Center, the Brand Promotion Center, and the Data Information Center. The company provides three types of products: solutions, software data, and equipment tools, and is a technology platform company that integrates technical services, data applications, and equipment promotion.
