Volkswagen integrates pure electric vehicle research and development

German automaker Volkswagen has centralized its electric vehicle R&D activities in China at Volkswagen (China) Technology Co., Ltd. (VCTC) in Anhui. This round of adjustments will further integrate the electric vehicle R&D in China to VCTC, and a large number of personnel will be transferred to VCTC or other business departments, while the Beijing R&D center will retain the development of some hybrid projects. It is reported that the new cars developed by VCTC in the future will be jointly produced and sold by the three joint ventures of Volkswagen Anhui, SAIC Volkswagen, and FAW Volkswagen.
