Self-driving industry experts question Tesla's L4 Robotaxi plans

Recently, many heavyweights in the autonomous driving industry have questioned Tesla CEO Elon Musk's L4 Robotaxi plan. Among them, Pony.ai CTO Lou Tiancheng and Qingzhou Zhihang CTO Hou Cong both said in media interviews that Tesla's plan has serious flaws. Lou Tiancheng pointed out that L2 and L4 autonomous driving technologies are not in the same category, and their designs and implementation methods are completely different. He further emphasized that although Tesla is trying to achieve L4 Robotaxi through the accumulation of L2 assisted driving data, this is actually contrary to his point of view. Hou Cong believes that although Tesla may launch a steering wheel-free model in October, its existing technology stack is not suitable for L4.
