Mazda to invest $150 million in Thailand to produce electric SUV

Mazda Motor Corp. plans to invest 15 billion baht (about 150 million U.S. dollars) in Thailand to produce electric compact multi-purpose vehicles (SUVs). The project will be located in Mazda's plant in Chachoengsao, which is an important production base of Mazda in Southeast Asia. After the new plant is put into production, the annual output will reach 100,000 vehicles, and most of the products will be exported to ASEAN countries and Japan.
