Samsung Electronics is reportedly planning to upgrade its factory in Xi'an, China to 286-layer stacked NAND Flash process technology to cope with the current market downturn and increasingly fierce competition. Since 2023, Samsung has been pushing the mainstream 128-layer stacked NAND Flash memory process at its Xi'an plant towards 236-layer stacking technology.
