After struggling for more than half a year, the price of lithium carbonate finally fell below 80,000 yuan/ton in August, which is regarded as the supply and demand balance cost line of the industry. After breaking through this barrier, the price of lithium showed a continuous downward trend, gradually approaching 70,000 yuan/ton. On August 15, the price of lithium carbonate futures continued to fall, with the main contract closing down 3.21% to 72,400 yuan/ton, and the average spot price of battery-grade lithium carbonate on Shanghai Nonferrous Metals Network (SMM) also dropped to 75,400 yuan/ton.
