SK Hynix and Samsung may stop using Chinese EDA software

According to Korean media reports, SK Hynix has begun an emergency inspection of Chinese semiconductor electronic design automation (EDA) software. EDA software is a tool used to design and verify system semiconductor integrated circuit (IC) designs. It is used to simulate various circuit designs and predict results before manufacturing semiconductor chips. It is reported that the EDA market is mainly occupied by American companies such as Synopsys, Cadence, Siemens, etc., with a share of more than 70%. However, in recent years, with the emergence of "cost-effective EDA" products, the market share of Chinese EDA companies such as Empyrean, Primarius and Entasis is rising.
