International 8-inch SiC Fab continues to lead

Globally, 8-inch SiC Fab is still in the leading position. Recently, ST (STMicroelectronics) announced the construction of a new large-scale 200mm SiC factory in Catania, Italy, mainly for the production of power devices and modules, as well as testing and packaging. It is planned to start production in 2026 and reach full capacity by 2033, with an estimated capacity of 15,000 wafers per week. In addition, Mitsubishi Electric also announced that its SiC wafer factory in Kumamoto Prefecture will begin operations in November 2025, about 5 months ahead of schedule.
