LG Energy Solution is fully committed to developing square batteries, and Korean battery suppliers are competing to follow suit

LG Energy Solution (LGES) is working hard to develop square batteries to meet the increased demand for this type of battery from automakers. The company has set up a special team to develop square batteries and actively promote its new products to customers. If LG Energy Solution starts producing square batteries, it will become the first battery supplier in South Korea that can provide square, cylindrical and soft-pack batteries at the same time. At the same time, Samsung SDI and SK On, two Korean battery suppliers, are also strengthening the production of square batteries. SK On has successfully developed square battery technology and is actively discussing production with potential customers while preparing for mass production.
