ZF considers spin-off of electric drive technology unit

According to internal sources, ZF is considering splitting its "Electric Drive Technology" division as part of a global restructuring plan launched in September 2024. The plan is expected to affect 32,000 employees, about one-fifth of the company's total number of employees. The division's sales are approximately 11.5 billion euros, accounting for a quarter of the company's total sales. If the split is successful, ZF will continue to retain business areas such as chassis solutions, electronics and ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), commercial vehicle solutions and passive safety technologies.
