On August 22, Toyota China's new factories in China - Huafeng Fuel Cell Co., Ltd. (FCTS) and United Fuel Cell System Research and Development (Beijing) Co., Ltd. (FCRD) - officially started production in Beijing Economic and Technological Development Zone on August 20. The total area of ​​the factory is 113,000 square meters, with an area of ​​44,000 square meters in the first phase, including 7 building units such as production plant, test workshop, R&D center and office building, laboratory, comprehensive station building, waste warehouse, hydrogen supply station, etc. Based on Toyota technology, the factory will be responsible for the research and development and production of hydrogen fuel cell systems and stacks. FCRD will be responsible for the research and development of fuel cell systems, while FCTS will be responsible for the production and sales of fuel cell systems and stacks. The maximum annual production capacity of the first phase can reach 10,000 units, and the second phase project is expected to start in 2026.
