Ford abandons large three-row electric SUV in favor of gasoline-electric hybrid

Ford Motor announced that it will abandon its large three-row electric SUV model under development and instead provide hybrid versions of its Explorer and Expedition models. This decision directly caused Ford Motor to lose $1.9 billion. At the same time, the latest electric version of Ford's best-selling pickup truck F-150 in North America will be postponed until 2027.
