US regulators push for LWIR cameras in cars

Driven by regulators such as NHTSA, more than 99% of new light vehicles in the U.S. are equipped with low-speed (40 km/h) AEB. By September 2029, all new cars in the U.S. will be equipped with advanced automatic emergency braking (AEB), pedestrian automatic emergency braking (PAEB) and forward collision warning (FCW), which brings opportunities to the automotive LWIR camera market.
