BorgWarner to close two plants, cut jobs due to falling demand

Due to weakening market demand, BorgWarner has decided to close its two factories in Hazel Park and Warren and lay off employees related to battery pack manufacturing. The two factories originally belonged to BorgWarner's battery pack manufacturing business, mainly producing battery systems for buses, commercial vehicles, train engines and ships. The related work will be transferred to a factory in South Carolina.
