Canada to impose 100% tariff on Chinese electric vehicles

The Canadian government announced that starting October 1, it will impose a 100% tariff on all electric vehicles imported from China. This move will affect all companies that sell imported electric vehicles to China, including Tesla and Polestar. Although Chinese automakers can enter the North American market from Mexico through the US-Mexico Free Trade Agreement, for Tesla, its share of the Canadian market may be affected by rising costs no matter which country it exports to.
