Domestic CMOS image sensor companies usher in a huge performance explosion

In the first half of 2024, the three major domestic CMOS image sensor manufacturers - Will Semiconductor, GalaxyCore and SmartSens - performed well, with significant growth in both revenue and net profit. SmartSens' revenue increased by 129% year-on-year and its net profit increased by 325%, mainly benefiting from its strong performance in the smartphone market, where revenue increased by 295% year-on-year and accounted for more than half of the company's total revenue. GalaxyCore's revenue increased by 42.94% and its net profit increased by 439.42%. Sales of CMOS image sensors for its mobile phone business accounted for more than 56% of its total revenue. Finally, Will Semiconductor's revenue increased by 36.5% and its net profit soared by 792.79%. Its image sensor solution business accounted for 77.15% of total revenue, of which the smartphone business accounted for 52% and its revenue soared by 79%, and the automotive electronics business accounted for 31% and its revenue increased by 53%.
