South Korea plans to build the world's largest AI data center

The South Korean government has reportedly approved the construction of the world's largest artificial intelligence (AI) data center in South Jeolla Province, with a power capacity of up to 3,000 megawatts (3GW), surpassing existing hyperscale AI data centers operated by technology giants such as Microsoft, Google and Amazon. The initial investment in the AI data center is US$10 billion, and the total investment may reach US$35 billion. It is expected to be completed in 2028.
