ON Semiconductor plans to cut 9% of its workforce in response to falling demand

Due to the decline in market demand and revenue, ON Semiconductor plans to lay off 9% of its employees, or about 2,400 employees. The move is aimed at optimizing financial conditions and maintaining competitiveness with Chinese competitors in the field of artificial intelligence. After the layoffs, it is expected to save $105 million to $115 million per year.
