AMD Powers Hitachi Astemo's Next-Generation Front-View Camera System

AMD announced that Japanese automotive equipment supplier Hitachi Astemo has selected its adaptive computing technology to power its new stereo front-view camera. The versatility of AMD's automotive-grade XA Zynq UltraScale+ MPSoC enables us to add multiple safety-critical features to the front-view camera system. As early as 2004, Subaru worked with Hitachi Automotive Systems (later merged into Hitachi Astemo) to develop stereo camera technology to obtain vehicle environmental information. This technology evolved into Subaru's EyeSight system, the industry's first perception-based driver assistance system.
