FuriosaAI launches second-generation AI inference chip RNGD

FuriosaAI, a Korean AI chip design startup, recently released their second-generation AI inference chip RNGD. The chip is scheduled to start mass production in August 2024 and will use TSMC's 5nm process node. It is reported that RNGD's performance is comparable to Nvidia's L40S inference chip, but its power consumption is only 150 watts, much lower than the 350 watts of L40S.
