About Soitec

Soitec SA (hereinafter referred to as Soitec) was founded in France in 1992 and built a factory in Grenoble, France in 1999. Its mission is to provide innovative substrates for the semiconductor industry. It mainly engages in wafer manufacturing and sales. Since its establishment, Soitec has focused on optimizing the substrate market segment and has now become the world's largest SOI (silicon on insulator) wafer manufacturer, with a market share of nearly 80%. As of now, mobile communications is still Soitec's dominant market, accounting for about 75% of total revenue; the Internet of Things and the automotive industry contribute 15% and 10% of total revenue respectively. According to Soitec's market forecast and short-term expansion plan, the revenue share of mobile communications will decrease to 65% in the future, while the automotive industry will increase to 20%; in order to cope with the rapid growth in demand, the production capacity is expected to increase from the current 2 million pieces to 4 million pieces around 2025.
