Samsung Electronics and the US semiconductor company Ambarella have deepened their partnership again. According to the latest reports, Samsung Electronics has successfully obtained a 2nm process advanced process foundry order from Ambarella, which will be used to produce ADAS chips. Tapeout is expected to start in 2025 and mass production will be achieved in 2026. This cooperation will further strengthen the position of both parties in the field of automotive electronics. Prior to this, Samsung and Ambarella had cooperated in wafer foundry. For example, in February 2023, Samsung provided Ambarella with a 5nm process for its newly launched CV3-AD685 automotive AI domain controller system-on-chip (SoC).
