Changfei Advanced is a company focusing on the research and development and manufacturing of silicon carbide (SiC) power semiconductor products. The birth of Changfei Advanced Semiconductor began with Changfei Optical Fiber, which was founded in 1988 by the former Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications, Wuhan City and Philips of the Netherlands. In May 2022, Changfei Optical Fiber completed the acquisition and integration of Wuhu Tus Semiconductor Co., Ltd. and Wuhu Terahertz Engineering Center Co., Ltd., and changed the company's name to Anhui Changfei Advanced Semiconductor Co., Ltd. The Changfei Advanced Wuhan Base Project is the first project in Wuhan New City, focusing on the research and development and production of third-generation semiconductor power devices. The project is undertaken by China Construction First Bureau Group Construction Development Co., Ltd., with a construction area of ​​about 300,000 square meters. It is expected to be put into mass production in July next year, when it can produce 360,000 silicon carbide wafers and epitaxy, 61 million power device modules annually, which are widely used in new energy vehicles, photovoltaics, energy storage, charging piles and other fields. The Wuhu base has an annual production capacity of 60,000 SiC MOSFET wafers, providing strong support for Wuhu City to build a national third-generation semiconductor industry highland.
