The price of 6-inch substrates has plummeted from 5,000 yuan per piece at its peak to less than 2,000 yuan, directly breaking through the cost line. For example, Tianyu Semiconductor's performance in the first half of 2024 turned from profit to loss. The gross profit margin of its 6-inch SiC epitaxial wafers plummeted from 55.4% in the first half of 2023 to 5.7% in the first half of 2024, and the gross profit margin of 8-inch SiC epitaxial wafers also dropped from 46.6% in the second half of 2023 to 8.3% in the first half of 2024.
