Qorvo (Qorvo Semiconductor) is a well-known American semiconductor manufacturer. In 2015, RFMD and TriQuint merged to form a new company called Qorvo, and a world-leading RF manufacturer was born. RFMD was once the world's leading designer and manufacturer of high-performance RF components and compound semiconductor technologies. Its products can provide enhanced connectivity and support advanced functions for global mobility, cellular phones, wireless infrastructure, wireless local area networks (WLAN), CATV/broadband, and aerospace and defense markets. TriQuint's product portfolio includes switch and amplifier products, as well as RF filters for various wireless and network infrastructure equipment applications, such as surface acoustic wave (SAW), temperature compensated surface acoustic wave (TC-SAW) and bulk acoustic wave (BAW) filters. Its strength lies in filter technology. RF is still the cornerstone of Qorvo. But in addition to RF, Qorvo is targeting the Internet of Things, automobiles and power supplies. In 2016, Qorvo acquired GreenPeak Technologies, a low-power wireless communication chip manufacturer, to expand its business in the Internet of Things market; in 2020, Qorvo acquired Active-Semi International Inc., a power management semiconductor company. This acquisition will help Qorvo expand its business in smart home, automotive and industrial applications. On February 4, 2020, Qorvo completed the acquisition of Decawave, a UWB positioning technology manufacturer. On February 19, 2020, Qorvo completed the acquisition of Custom MMIC, a manufacturer of RF and microwave devices. On May 6, 2021, Qorvo completed the acquisition of NextInput, a provider of MEMS sensor solutions. On November 4, 2021, Qorvo acquired UnitedSiC, a supplier of SiC devices, to enter the power semiconductor industry. On June 5, 2024, Qorvo announced that it had reached a final agreement to acquire Anokiwave. The acquisition of Anokiwave will bring more market opportunities to Qorvo and further expand markets such as defense and aerospace, satellite communications and 5G. Qorvo's total revenue in 2023 was US$3.569 billion, a YoY decrease of 23%.
