Xpeng Motors launches new generation S5 ultra-fast charging station, achieving 1-second charging over 1 km

Xiaopeng Motors recently announced that it has officially launched a new generation of S5 ultra-fast charging stations in four cities, including Shanghai, Tianjin, Zhengzhou, and Wuhan, achieving a technological breakthrough of charging over 1 kilometer in 1 second. It is reported that Xiaopeng's liquid-cooled S5 ultra-fast charging pile can achieve a peak charging power of 800kW, a maximum output current of 800A, a voltage of 1000V, and a plug-in start speed of less than 13 seconds. In addition, the charging pile also adopts a front-outlet and left-side hanging gun design, so users can pick up and plug in the gun in place. The gun head has added a status intelligent indicator light to visualize the charging process throughout the process. In the future, the new generation of Xiaopeng S5 ultra-fast charging stations will be launched in Shenzhen, Beijing, Chengdu, Xi'an and other cities. It is expected that by 2026, Xiaopeng Motors' goal is to build 10,000 self-operated charging stations, including 4,500 liquid-cooled ultra-fast charging stations.
