CATL releases Tianxing Battery B-Bus version, with a lifespan of up to 15 years and 1.5 million kilometers

CATL recently released the Tianxing Battery B-Bus version. The life of this battery can reach 15 years and 1.5 million kilometers, which is almost double the life of existing conventional products. Tianxing Battery is a commercial vehicle power battery brand launched by CATL in July this year. It has previously released power batteries for light logistics commercial vehicles. The newly released Tianxing Bus version is mainly aimed at the bus market. Since the life of power batteries is usually shorter than the scrapping cycle of vehicles, this has become the main pain point of new energy vehicles. According to the domestic mandatory scrapping standards for motor vehicles, the service life of buses is 13 years, but the actual service life is generally only 8-10 years. Gao Huan, chief technology officer of CATL Commercial Vehicles, said at the press conference that the warranty of the Tianxing Bus version will cover the entire life cycle of the vehicle, and the energy density of the battery has reached 175 Wh/kg, which is the highest level in the industry.
