SAIC Volkswagen responded to the previous rumors about the permanent closure of SAIC Volkswagen's first plant in Anting, saying that this was a misunderstanding and was actually part of its electrification transformation and the upgrade of the Anting base. Since 2015, SAIC Volkswagen has begun to upgrade and transform the Anting base. According to SAIC Volkswagen's future plan, Anting will be built into a modern headquarters park with multiple functions such as management headquarters, intelligent manufacturing base, R&D and innovation base, with global leading level.
