Geely wins huge compensation in lawsuit against WM Motor for technology infringement

The Geely v. WM Motor technology infringement case was listed as the "largest case of new energy vehicle technology secrets". This case involved the infringement of new energy vehicle chassis technology secrets. Geely Group sued WM Motor Group and its affiliated companies for infringing its technology secrets, demanding that the infringement be stopped and that economic losses and reasonable rights protection expenses total 2.1 billion yuan be compensated. After the first and second instance procedures, the Supreme People's Court applied 2 times punitive damages in accordance with the law in the second instance, and finally ruled that WM Motor Group should compensate Geely Group for economic losses and reasonable expenses totaling about 640 million yuan.
