Pony.ai and Sany Heavy Truck announced

On July 28, Pony.ai and Sany Heavy Truck announced that they will establish a joint venture to develop, produce and sell L4 autonomous heavy truck products and jointly create a high-end autonomous heavy truck brand. The joint venture plans to start small-scale mass production and delivery in 2022, and will further integrate Pony.ai's virtual driver capabilities and Sany Heavy Truck's wire-controlled chassis and vehicle development capabilities in 2024 to mass-produce high-end autonomous heavy truck products. The annual output is expected to exceed 10,000 vehicles in a few years. At present, the first autonomous driving prototype built on the Sany new energy truck platform has begun road testing. Pony.ai's domain controller designed based on the NVIDIA DRIVE Orin system-on-chip will also fully enable the smart trucks produced by the joint venture.
