Kargo Power, a driverless technology research and development company under Didi Chuxing, announced today that it has received investment from chip company Horizon. Kargo Power said that the two parties will promote technical and commercial cooperation on high-performance autonomous driving domain controllers to accelerate the commercialization of Kargo Power's intelligent platooning system in the logistics field. Since signing a cooperation agreement with Horizon in April this year, the Kargo Power team has deployed algorithms on the Journey chip, greatly enhancing the safety and efficiency of autonomous driving trucks under complex road conditions. Currently, Kargo Power has carried out regular testing of intelligent platooning transportation in North China and Northwest China, transporting more than 2.5 million tons of bulk goods each year. KargoBot hybrid intelligence is a fleet consisting of a driver-driven front vehicle with L2 assisted driving and multiple unmanned rear vehicles with L4 autonomous driving. In this mode, the scene processing capability can be increased by 50 times, and the safety index can be increased by 20 times, which can stably solve various problems that are difficult to solve for single-vehicle autonomous driving.
