Pony.ai was founded in December 2016 in Silicon Valley, USA, and has deployed in both China and the United States to implement autonomous driving technology. Since December 2018, it has launched autonomous driving travel services in Guangzhou, Beijing, Shanghai, and Shenzhen, China. Among them, the number of autonomous driving test licenses obtained in Guangzhou ranks first in the city, covering all test levels. Pony.ai has established cooperation with first-class car manufacturers such as Toyota, Sany, SAIC, FAW, and GAC, as well as upstream and downstream leading companies such as NVIDIA, Sinotrans, NavInfo, and Ruqi Travel. In the first half of 2024, Pony.ai was approved to provide unmanned commercial Robotaxi services in Bao'an, Shenzhen. As of October 2023, the company's valuation reached US$8.5 billion. As of August 2024, Pony.ai has accumulated more than 35 million kilometers of autonomous driving road test mileage, including 3.5 million kilometers of unmanned autonomous driving test mileage, laying the foundation for large-scale and unmanned autonomous driving services.
