Pony.ai Completes US$462 Million Series B Financing

Pony.ai announced the completion of a $462 million Series B financing, including a $400 million strategic investment from Toyota Motor Corporation, with a post-investment valuation of slightly more than $3 billion. Previously, Pony.ai received a Series A investment from Lenovo Star. In December 2018, Pony.ai launched the PonyPilot autonomous driving mobile travel (Robotaxi) project and took the lead in piloting the regular operation of Robotaxi on public roads in urban areas in Guangzhou, becoming the first company to provide Robotaxi services in the Chinese market. In November 2019, Pony.ai took the lead in launching the first Robotaxi service for the general public in California, laying the foundation for its global provision of autonomous driving services.
