IBM's China business is completely suspended

On March 1, 2025, IBM (China) Investment Co., Ltd. and its branches officially announced the cessation of business activities and the suspension of related office space. The core of this business adjustment is the IBM China System Center under IBM China Investment Co., Ltd., which has long been responsible for the key functions of R&D and testing. The center has employees in Beijing, Shanghai, Dalian and other cities, involving more than 1,800 people. Since August 2024, IBM has quietly laid out and announced that it will transfer the R&D work of the China System Laboratory to other IBM infrastructure bases overseas, and gradually withdraw from all R&D projects in China.
