ON Semiconductor collaborates with Volkswagen and Li Auto to provide silicon carbide technology solutions

ON Semiconductor has joined hands with Volkswagen and Li Auto to become the main supplier of the next generation main drive inverter for Volkswagen's Scalable System Platform (SSP), providing a complete power box solution. The solution uses silicon carbide-based technology in the integrated module, which can be expanded to main drive inverters of all power levels and is compatible with all vehicle categories; Li Auto will use ON Semiconductor's high-performance EliteSiC 1200V bare chips in its next generation 800V high-voltage pure electric models.
