HP plans to lay off 1,000 to 2,000 employees as component costs rise

HP plans to cut 1,000 to 2,000 jobs by the end of this fiscal year, a move that is expected to save the company about $300 million a year as it faces rising component costs and U.S. tariffs on Chinese imports.
