BMW Munich plant accelerates transition to pure electric production

In order to cope with the significant increase in the market share of pure electric vehicles by 2030, the BMW Group's Debrecen and Munich plants will become the first factories dedicated to the production of pure electric vehicles to enhance their electrification capabilities. Preparations are underway at the Munich plant to launch the NEUE KLASSE (new generation model) in the summer of 2026 and, while continuing series production, to build three new workshops for the body shop, final assembly shop and related production logistics. Starting in 2027, the plant will specialize in the production of pure electric vehicles to improve efficiency.
