Brazil's auto sales hit a record high in February, with Chinese brands performing well

In February 2024, Brazil's light vehicle market hit a record high since 2020 with sales of 173,369 vehicles, up 11.6% year-on-year and 8.3% year-to-date. Fiat maintained its leading position with an absolute market share of 21.6%, but brands such as Volkswagen and Toyota grew faster. Chinese brands performed particularly well: BYD entered the top ten in sales with a year-on-year growth rate of 58.8%, and Chery and Great Wall also achieved double-digit growth with SUVs and new energy models.
