Hyundai Motor plans to produce electric vehicles at Türkiye's Izmit plant

Hyundai Motor Company announced that its plant in Izmit, Turkey will produce both electric vehicles and internal combustion engine vehicles to meet the needs of the European market from 2026. Although the specific models and production quantities have not yet been announced, according to data, Hyundai Motor Group ordered electric motor components from supplier POSCO in January 2024, and it is expected that 550,000 components will be delivered to the Hyundai plant in Turkey by 2034.
