Waymo expands self-driving taxi service

Starting March 12, Waymo expanded its self-driving taxi service in its "Waymo One" early rider program to cover parts of Mountain View, Los Altos, Palo Alto, and Sunnyvale in Silicon Valley, increasing the service area to 27 square miles. This expansion brings the company's coverage area in the San Francisco Bay Area to 55 square miles. Waymo's self-driving vehicles will operate 24/7 and plan to test in 10 new cities this year, including Las Vegas and San Diego. In addition, Waymo has also partnered with Uber and has launched services in Austin, and plans to expand to Atlanta, Miami, and Africa.
