Micron launches 1γ (gamma) advanced process

Memory giant Micron has successfully developed a 1γ (gamma) advanced process and provided 1γ (gamma) DDR5 samples to customers such as Intel and AMD in February. This is the first company in the memory industry to reach this milestone. Micron plans to reduce the use of EUV to accelerate the mass production of advanced process DRAM and reduce costs. Micron chose to reduce its reliance on EUV and switch to the mature argon fluorine immersion lithography (ArFi) process.
