Musk announces Starship will travel to Mars with Optimus next year

Musk said on social media on Friday that Starship will fly to Mars next year with a robot named Optimus. If the first attempt is successful, humans may begin landing on Mars as early as 2029, although 2031 is more likely. The goal of this mission is to conduct preliminary exploration and resource development tests of the Martian environment through the Optimus robot. This AI robot, which is about 1.7 meters tall and has the ability to act and learn autonomously, will be responsible for establishing a temporary base, collecting samples and maintaining equipment, laying the foundation for future human settlement on Mars.
