Mercedes-Benz Chief Technology Officer Markus Schafer confirmed that the classic compact A-Class will no longer launch a new generation of models. In the future, Mercedes-Benz's compact car lineup will be reduced to four models: CLA, GLA, GLB and G-Class. Schafer said that although hot hatchback models are very popular in the European market, Mercedes-Benz must make more competitive choices in the global market, especially in China and the United States.
