South Africa's new car market achieved a year-on-year sales growth of 7.3% in February 2025, reaching 47,978 units, confirming the market's recovery trend. Toyota continued to lead with sales of 11,743 units and a market share of 24.5%, while Suzuki became a market highlight with a 15.8% brand sales growth and the excellent performance of Swift and Fronx. Chinese brands performed outstandingly in the South African market, with Chery selling 1,924 units, a year-on-year increase of 27.9%, and Great Wall selling 1,713 units, a year-on-year increase of 3.4%. New entrants Omoda, Jietu and Foton also showed potential.
