Microchip Unveils Manufacturing Restructuring Plan

Microchip has launched a manufacturing restructuring plan to reduce costs and right-size its manufacturing operations. In addition to selling its Arizona manufacturing plant, Microchip also plans to lay off 2,000 employees. The layoffs are mainly concentrated in its chip manufacturing plants in Gresham, Oregon and Colorado Springs, Colorado. In addition, the company also plans to lay off employees at its back-end manufacturing plants in the Philippines.
